This is a good replacement part for the price where I found it to be 3x more at local parts dealers. Just be careful because the terminal ends of the element were bent slightly on the part I received and were probably bent during shipment. When I installed the element through the front of the oven the connection ends were touching the oven chassis because of the part getting bent during shipment and I didn't realize it was slightly bent. A lot of sparks and a tripped circuit breaker. When installing also remove the rear cover on the back of the oven to check that where the element connection ends come through the back that they are not touching the oven chassis. Therefore, to install 1. turn off the circuit breaker to the oven or pull out oven plug. 2.Install the element through the front of the oven. 3.Check the the back of the oven to make sure the connections are not touching the chassis. 4. Replace covers. 5. Turn circuit breaker on if it was switched off and/or plug in oven if it was pulled and try oven.

I was so glad I found this item on amazon! After experiencing my old bake element sparking and burning out I looked at some chain hardware stores and found it for double the price but wasn't exactly sure if the item information was the right one. So I called GE who tried really hard to get me to buy it directly from them. When they reluctantly gave me the item information I immediately looked it up on amazon.com and found it for less and because I am a prime member got 2 day free shipping. GE was willingly to kind of price match by offering it to me for $7 more than amazon.com but how could I second guess amazon. This was really easy to install and has worked great since getting it.

Ugghh! The element keeps burning out. LITERALLY! Like a fuse to a stick of dynamite. I'm not sure it's a GE issue, or a just product design issue or what... but we've had this stove for about 8 years and this is the only problem we've had with it. The element keep burning out. Not the broiler element... the baking element. We've replaced this element probably 4-5 times during the life of this stove. Frustrating. Anyway.. this element fits/works/whatever.
