Kettle heats water quickly and safely and doesn't have a huge footprint. Fits nicely on countertop and looks nice. Wipes clean easily. Automatic shut-off is a dream when water has reached its correct temp. Easily fits/removes from its heating perch. Also, let me add, this product is 'ALL' stainless steel inside and out, with the exception of the lid and handle. It's a wonderful product. Have not ever had a problem with it.

I spent 60+ hours researching various cordless electric kettles and boiled it down to the following: I could spend a boatload on something artsy-fartsy with temperature gauges and varying degrees of tempered glass, stainless steel (or chrome) and minimal contact with plastic, OR I could shell out less than $25 and buy a pretty good pot that will simply heat gallons of water for the copious amounts of tea and French press coffee I consume on a daily basis. I do not have Oprah money, and my kitchen is never, EVER going to be on the cover of "Architectural Digest"--in other words, practicality won out and I am very glad that I purchased the Courant 2.0 liter stainless kettle.

Another reviewer indicated that the only non-stainless material that contacts the water in the kettle is the plastic "plug" set into the metal along the handle. Perhaps this is true for the smaller versions of this kettle, but it is is not entirely true for the 2.0 liter version for two reasons:
1. The plug functions as a sort of cover for the transparent (plastic or glass, not sure which), narrow water level indicator on the back of the kettle. I have to assume that some small amount of water in the stainless body of the kettle runs through the hole behind this plug into the narrow water level reservoir (allowing for an accurate indication of the water level), which then flows back into the stainless body when the water is poured out of the kettle.
2. When you pour boiling water out of the kettle, the heated water will come into contact with some plastic trim surrounding the mesh filter fitted behind the spout opening. This filter can probably be removed one way or another. I will probably wait for it to become brittle and fall off on its own through repeated use.

These issues aside, I am still pleased with the overall design and function of the kettle. It is similar to many of the other stainless kettles currently available but at a significantly lower price. It does take a little over 7 minutes to boil a full, 2-liter pot, which is about 2.5 minutes longer than the 1500 watt kettle it replaced, but I figure that just gives me a little more time to grind beans and get the sugar/cream into my cup.

Perfect size for me...Water heats up very fast to a rolling boil too. I really like it...Would recommend it to anyone.
