Stay cool -- whether you're near an electrical outlet or not -- with this powerful, portable fan. Keep one or more on hand for emergency power outages, camping, sporting events or outdoor activities. And when the power is back, just plug it in.

Two Power Sources

Running on 8 "D" size batteries (not included), this fan's 10" blades deliver up to 40 hours of strong, reliable air flow. Or it can be plugged into any standard outlet using the included AC adapter. The batteries go into the U-shaped anti-tip base, their weight adding even more stability.

Great for Travel

The compact, folding design is easy to take with you on camping trips, beach parties, tailgating and other outdoor adventures, as well as to office cubicles or school classrooms with limited electrical access.

Two-Speed, Tiltable Fan Head

This versatile fan also lets you customize your breeze. You can set it on low or high speed. And you can adjust the angle of the fan head so that the breeze always hits just the right spot, whether the fan is sitting on the ground or a higher surface. Combining the portable convenience of a personal battery fan and the power of an electric box fan, it's really the only fan you need!

One aweome fan

I have to say, this is one awesome fan. It's much larger in person then I expected it would be. What makes it really nice is how FAST the fan blades spin. I have a tabletop fan on my side of the bed in the bedroom and I set this one up on my husbands side of the bed. I was blown away (pun intended) by the difference in how much wind the two fans produced. While they are similar in size, the fan blades on this Epica fan spin probably twice as fast!

Not only does this fan work well for moving air around, it also can be powered with batteries in addition to the included AC adapter. So if your somewhere without a plug in (camping, RV'ing, etc) you can still use this fan even without having a wall outlet near by.

The base is wide and holds the fan perfectly still. So even with the large blades moving quite fast, it sits still and doesn't vibrate off the tabletop. The motor inside it nice a and quite too, so the fan is easy to sleep next too if you like having a flan blowing on you to help stay cool on these hot summer nights.

This is by far the best tabletop fan I've owned. And with it being so versatile in how it can be powered, you can use it just about anywhere you would need to set up a fan. It works very well and I highly recommend it!

I'm already a "fan" of this fan

I would have given my eye teeth for this fan two weekends ago when a storm blew down a tree on our street, blocking the street and taking down the power lines, with the power not being restored for more than 24 hours. My in-laws a few miles away had power, but we couldn't drive away with our street closed. The fan would have made us a lot more comfortable in the sweltering heat and humidity.

Whatever. This is a really nice fan, and the ability to run it on either batteries or AC makes it far more versatile that the traditional AC-only fans of this size. One tip: Even if you plan on using the fan only with AC power, it's a good idea to insert 8 D-cells in the base, even if the batteries are dead, since it makes the base more stable and the fan less likely to tip over if it's bumped. Even with batteries inserted, the fan only weighs about 4.4 pounds, making it very portable.

The 10" fan puts out a surprising amount of air flow. Indoors, with the high speed setting, I could feel air moving at 15+ feet away, from straight out to about 20-30 degrees each side of center in a conical pattern. Then I took the fan out on the front porch and set it on a bench about eight feet away while I watched the hummingbirds at our feeder, and it made it noticeably more comfortable in the 88-degree heat.

As useful as the fan is for indoors during power outages or to allow setting the air conditioning thermostat a bit higher, the fan really comes into its own for outdoor use. I've already skipped one outdoor concert this summer, because I can't take the heat, and the little handheld battery fan I have isn't much help. The Epica fan would make the hot weather a lot more tolerable for outdoor events like concerts, picnics, cookouts, and the like. My camping days are over, but the fan would be super for any kind of camping.

Noise: You can hear the fan running, especially at high speed, but it seems like the thin curved blade design reduces the noise a little compared to the conventional wide-blade fans that I've owned. It makes no more noise than my CPAP machine, and that doesn't bother me or my wife while we're sleeping.

Note: There are no provisions for hanging the fan, but I imagine it's possible to drill holes in the frame and rig up something.
