Based on the packaging and product item description, these are the authentic replacement air filters for the Honeywell 16200 Air Cleaners, but they look a little different from the original filter that comes with the 16200 Honeywell 16200 Desktop HEPA Air Purifierand about ten days after I popped one of the replacement filters in, the air cleaner started to emit an odor that smells just like an electrical fire. I really thought that the air cleaner itself was on the verge of catching fire. In the process of trying to figure out what was wrong, I put the replacement filter into my other 16200 (I have two identical air cleaners in my home), which was working fine and sure enough it too started emitting the same smell. I am really disappointed in the manufacturers (Honeywell and Kaz), because these foul-smelling replacement filters essentially make the air cleaners themselves useless. Amazon refunded the cost of the replacement filters, but now I am stuck with two air cleaners for which I cannot get filters.

I went to the Honeywell site looking for part 16216 and found out they're being replaced with HRF-C1 and HRF-C2. I still have the original box for the 16216 and it says it has 99% HEPA filtration. The part was manufactured in Mexico as well.

The specs on the new part number indicate it has 95% filtration. I'm not sure this no longer counts as a true HEPA filter. I need the replacement filters, so I have to use these. But, I am not happy with the degradation of filtration quality. :(

I will check where they are manufactured when I get the package. But, considering the other review indicating an odor coming from their filters, I am expecting them to be made in China. Many other manufacturers products are also having "stink" problems with products coming from there. Sorry, KAZ-HONEYWELL, or whatever you call yourselves these days. Outsourcing to China is never an answer when your quality goes down the tubes.

These have gone down in quality, I don't understand why you would pay this price, for something that isn't "True HEPA" like the AER, or even "Knock-off" brands found on Amazon. At 95%, you should just go and find a "Knock-off" on Amazon that offers true HEPA, pay less, and get a better product.
