I bought another one of these and it lasted 6 months and then burnt out. I ordered this one based on the only other review of it. It does feel heavier than the other part. The wires seem to be firmer and higher quality. As the other reviewer stated, I'll update this if it burns out. I updated the review of the other element I bought from a 5 star to 1 due to it only lasting 6 months. Added the photo to hopefully help out a little.
update: I've had this for almost two months and it's still working really well.
Great price. Arrived on time. Perfect replacement part (whirlpool true part).

I'm always a bit hesitant to shop for things, especially electrical parts, online. Once you open a box it's a done deal (unless it arrived broken). However, ordering through Amazon provides added shopping security. This part claimed to be the correct part (I had noticed other people advertising the correct part but was a cheaper-made copy). Part arrived on time. New condition. Mfg'd by Whirlpool. With a YouTube video, replacing it took about 15 minutes start-to-finish and I'm not the "handyman" type, but am learning. This process saved me about $100 and I learned something at the same time. This newer supplier, a small businessman, turned out to have great follow-up. So I got the right part. Right price. Right on time. Able to fix it "rightly", too. A+.
Appears to be the real deal and not a cheap knock-off.

This element appears to be the real deal. It has "FPS" stamped into the metal as well as the part number. I bought this to replace a $20 OEM-like heating element I bought here on Amazon that lasted only 5 months (You can find my 1-star review here somewhere). Comparing this element to the failed aftermarket OEM-like part, the difference is apparent. I'm not anticipating a premature failure of THIS part, but if it does, I'll be sure to update this review.
