I have a 15 year old whirlpool dryer that I like because the door opens down and I can put the wet clothes there and then push them in and I can fold from the door too. I could not find a new dryer like that. I had a repair man in to fix my dishwasher and asked him to look at my dryer too. He stuck his nose in the air and said he didn't work on Whirlpools and I should go get something "nice" because it would cost $225.00 to get it fixed at a minimum, The key was he told me what was wrong. The heating element. So I wrote down the model number from my dryer, looked up the part on Sears, where it was $60.00 and then checked on Amazon, $23.00. I watched the Youtube video several times and did it myself. It took me less than an hour, and I got to clean the whole interior of my dryer while I was at it. Oh, and I am a Grandma, so double yay me. My dryer is nice a toasty warm again.
