This drain pump worked exactly as expected and all I had to do was swap it out. The new pump has now been installed for several months and still works like it should. I doubt that I will have to replace it before replacing the washer now that I am aware of the garbage that collects in the trap.

I bought this water pump for my Kenmore HE2t washing machine.
My washing machine is only about 3 1/2 years old. Lots of use, with 2 adults and 3 children. Still the pump should not have went out so soon. Anyway, it was pretty easy to install this pump. I consider myself quit handy with tools. So installation was no problem. One recommendation to everyone is that you have to actually get underneath the machine to install this pump. You have to have access to the bottom. There are 2 small screws on the bottom of one of the foots that you need to get to. I just propped up my washing machine with a small piece of wood underneath it and was able to access these 2 screws with no problem. Installed water pump about a week ago and it runs great.

So if you consider yourself handy around the house; you should have no problems installing this water pump.

In Nov, 2005 I purchased a Kenmore HE 2 washer that was actually built by Whirlpool and branded as a Kenmore.

This fit my washer. The Kenmore Part number was 8540024, the Whirlpool Part number was W10130913

Hope that helps. I wasn't exactly sure it was going to fit my washer, but it was an exact match.

Also, it came in a Whirlpool Certified Parts box.

So it is NOT a chinese knock off part.

It also came with one extra hose clamp to help make the reassembly much easier.
